OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED ACCOUNTS INDIVIDUAL
We are looking for an experienced accounts individual that would be happy to contribute to audit work, which will be a key area of day to day activity.
The ideal candidate would plan and complete accounts jobs, be able to agree potential misstatements with a client and complete the final file documentation. This would be done with the support of senior management and our Accounts and Audit Manager as required.
Day to day client contact for accounts preparation work will also be a key part of this role. Additionally, the team member will engage in full tax advice (to an appropriate level) and compliance in all areas as required.
Some personal tax compliance work will be required, and over time with passed knowledge, advice could reach the realms of Corporate M&A and also cover other taxes such as IHT, CGT, VAT, SDLT.
Again, as a business that believes in teamwork, assistance and support would be offered whenever required.
At Walker & Sutcliffe we encourage everyone to learn wherever they can. Ideally, the successful candidate will thrive in this learning environment and be open to development both professionally and personally while also being happy to pass on their experience and knowledge to clients and other team members where appropriate.
As an example, a review of the work (and files) of junior team members would be part of the role too. Helping them to develop in their training to be the best accountants and individual members of society they can be.
Mentoring and coaching will be provided by trained experts. We feel it is essential that all members of our team have the time and focus they need to invest in their own professional and personal development.
We have developed Team Wellbeing Time, which allows everyone at Walker & Sutcliffe, whatever their role, to allocate two hours every two weeks to do something they enjoy or that will alleviate some of the stress from their lives.
In addition, we all have access to a confidential psychotherapist, the cost of which is covered by the firm; three times death in service policy and standard pension contributions.
Finally, we are not clock watchers. We believe that adults should be treated as such and that our team can manage their own time accordingly to meet the needs of our clients while also enjoying a work/life balance.
This is a full-time opportunity, however, we would be open to negotiation for the perfect candidate to join our team. If you would like to hear more, please contact Kathryn at kathryn.moore@walker-sutcliffe.co.uk
