WHEN YOU DO BUSINESS WITH US AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN
We believe business has the power to enrich lives and that's why our team are passionate about giving something back. We don't just aspire to make a difference to our clients' lives, but also those in the local community and beyond.
That's why, at Walker & Sutcliffe, we've made giving the core of what we do.
WE ARE SUPPORTING LOCAL CHARITIES
For many years, we have supported the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, a local charity caring for children with life shortening conditions and supporting families in the local community. Their dedicated care team of specialist nurses, therapists, counsellors, doctors and volunteers count on the support of local businesses and people to help with their running costs and provide outstanding care to families in need.
Nick Ledgard was honoured to be asked to take the role as Trustee and held the position for four years. We are regular supporters through their 99ers scheme (giving 99p a day) and attend a number of charity events throughout the year, whether it be donning our trainers and getting covered in paint for a Colour Run, or getting suited and booted with our guests at a charity dinner.
WE ARE MAKING IMPACTS WORLDWIDE
What would happen if we all gave back, by doing the things we do every day? That question launched B1G1 Business for Good, an organisation connecting small and medium sized businesses with sustainable, high impact projects around the world.
Our partnership with B1G1 makes giving the core of what we do. Every single business transaction we carry out, from filing a tax return, set of accounts or vat return, creates a positive impact and change in communities all over the world by giving on behalf of our clients.
We have carefully selected our projects on what is important to us, sustainable living and education. In villages in Malawi, high infant and child mortality are caused by water and sanitation related diseases, but with the installation of a well and clean water pump, villagers will not have to travel long distances for clean water. With our help, we hope clean water pumps can be installed in more and more villages in Malawi.
As a business, education is really important to us. That's why we have chosen to help improve learning in Kenya and Nepal by supplying bricks to build classrooms. With classroom sizes of up to 100 students at a time, we hope to help improve the learning environment for students and increase the level of engagement and interaction between teachers and students by reducing class sizes.
We are just getting started, but by doing business together AMAZING things will happen.
