Audit & Accounts Manager

We have an opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Manager to join our team.  

We are a smaller practice, which results in the experience gained being hugely varied. As a result, although the role title is Audit and Accounts Manager, it is not limited to these areas and encompasses everything that is required in a small practice. We do require an audit experienced individual, so there will be sufficient exposure in this area. Indeed, we would hope we will be able to grow this area in the coming years. 

The ideal candidate would be one who could plan and lead an audit on site, be able to agree potential misstatements with a client and complete the final documentation including the final audit findings report and full disclosures. This would be done with the knowledge that there would be there to help wherever required and would have a full review of the files before we sent any information out. Ideally, we would like someone who would be open to getting RI status, but this is not essential.

There will be a full client day to day contact and accounts preparation responsibility for the larger non-audit clients and again we would help wherever required and review files with you so that we can learn from each other to ensure the best possible service to clients. Review of the work (and files) of junior team members would be part of the role too; helping them to develop in their training to be the accountants and people they can be.

You will engage in full tax advice and compliance on all areas as required (so in January there could be some personal tax compliance work required, or at least helping to get required information from clients) and advice could get into the realms of Corporate M&A and also cover other taxes such as IHT, CGT, VAT, SDLT. In all of these we encourage everyone to learn wherever they can and would hope that the individual who joins us wants to learn so they both get more knowledge and in turn are able to pass this onto clients where appropriate.

In time you would be invited to join the management team to have input into the future direction of the practice so we move forward together as a team and decisions are made wherever possible as a team, rather than through direction as clearly, there may be times when this is not possible. 

You will receive mentoring and coaching wherever possible to ensure you do not feel left out in the cold nor that matters have been abdicated in your direction rather than delegated.
